Today’s brands are tasked with the heavy burden of sifting through thousands of data points to make sense of who their target customers are and how to win them over from the competition. The most advanced retail analytics teams leverage location in their workflows and models to develop customer segments and campaign strategies with greater granularity and relevant geospatial context. Geospatial data and GIS have proven to be invaluable tools for brands looking to answer critical questions related to trade area analysis, site selection, and other business strategies, but many organizations still struggle with identifying the right data and connecting it all together.
In the current economic climate, transaction data has been a game-changer. Analyzing consumer spending behavior at the store-level enables data scientists to see how customers actually engage with brands at different locations, and how this has changed over time. Location-based transaction data provides a clearer picture of how consumers engage with specific store locations, highlighting key details like when they made purchases and where they came from. And now with new cross-store shopping columns, SafeGraph Spend makes it possible to see which other stores people spend money at, enabling brands to build the most comprehensive location-based customer segments.
When using SafeGraph Spend together with ArcGIS Knowledge, users can add a powerful spatial element to their analysis. ArcGIS Knowledge enables users to explore and analyze the relationships between brands, stores, trade areas, monthly spend patterns, and digital platforms to accelerate decisions about store co-location strategies and cross-marketing programs. Analysts can easily search and visualize connected information through multiple perspectives like maps, link charts, and histograms to identify key patterns.
